JKTech

JKTech is an innovative export driven company based at the University of Queensland’s Experimental Mine. Located at Indooroopilly in Brisbane, it supplies a range of technology products to the local and international minerals market.

The Mineral Liberation Analyser (MLA) provides quantitative analysis of mineral and material samples to clients globally. Developed, commercialised and marketed worldwide from JKTech’s Brisbane headquarters, the MLA has the world’s largest installed base of any system of its kind with 50 units installed around the globe. MLA systems have been installed or are awaiting installation in Australia, South Africa, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Peru, UK, Finland, Turkey, Germany and China.

The adoption of the MLA technology worldwide, confirms the MLA technology’s leading position with the largest installed base of automated mineralogy systems globally.

The BHP Billiton contract in 2006 for the supply of quantitative mineralogy services associated with the core characterisation of drill core samples for the Olympic Dam Expansion Project, together with an expanding customer base, resulted in JKMineralogy now operating 7 MLA systems at the JK Centre. This represents one of the largest commercial quantitative mineralogy facilities in the world.
